                                                                    In 1971 the first 'Refuge' for women and children opened in the UK. Refuge runs the Freephone 24-hour National Domestic Violence Helpline in partnership with Women’s Aid. 

                                                                    Today 'Refuge' is supported by amongst, a host of others comedienne Jo Brand.
                                                                    2011 is the forty years mark for the charity helping on average more than 1,500 women and children annually.

                                                                    Aptly titled, the latest musical to hit London's West End "RESPECT La Diva" pays tribute to female artists since the 1950's to the present day, and is supporting 'Refuge' for its three weeks run.
