Improvisation for Directors in Film & TV: Intensive 5-Day Course

Wed 14th – Sun 18th Sep 2011 – 11am–6pm - £480 – Last few places!

This highly practical 5-day workshop with Sean McCann is designed specifically for experienced directors who would like to use improvisation as a central component of their work. 

The focus of the course is on the relationship between the director and the actor, and each participant will have the opportunity to workshop a current project of their own with professional actors. 

Sean will also examine ways in which improvisation can be used to improve the quality and effectiveness of the written screenplay. Key areas covered include:

·         How to get actors to improvise successfully.

·         Improvisation using pre-existing material.

·         Improvisation from scratch.

·         Improvisation as a rehearsal technique AND Improvisation as part of the final shooting script.

·         Pitfalls, Bad Habits and Areas of Concern.

·         Extensive practical work with professional actors using participants’ own projects.
